Some (not these) of the work on Jessica Backhaus's site is questionable. That question is of the fine line that separates photography that is visually easy to understand and that which is not. Photographs which are easy to understand (and everything telephoto), to me, immediately bring to mind stock imaging (dirty word). Though her subject matter is ethereal much of the work (again not these) is too simple for my taste, but I will stay here on the fence as long as she keeps making a few pictures like theeesssseee!!
